Maria Kouri, Lecturer

Maria Kouri is Lecturer of Cultural Administration and has also lectured at the departments of Philology, Theatre Studies and Economic Sciences of the University of the Peloponnese. Furthermore, she has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Panteion University of Social and Economic Sciences, the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus and the Hellenic Open University.
She researches aspects of cultural policy and administration: national and international cultural policies; management and marketing of cultural institutions; educational programmes in arts organisations; audience development; and, the role of cultural resources in sustainable development.
Among other projects, she has completed a post-doctoral research funded by the State Scholarships Foundation-Greece and has researched grassroots cultural policies at the University of Chicago as a Fulbright Research Scholar (2012-2013). She was also honored with the title Harvard University Center for Hellenic Studies Fellow in Comparative Cultural Studies (2016-2017).
Maria has worked in production, marketing and education departments in Greek and foreign cultural organisations. She has served as Expert Counsellor to the Secretary General of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, and as Expert on Culture to the Social and Economic Committee of Greece.
Maria is a scholar of the Friends of Music Association, the Richard Wagner Verband Wien and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has a Piano Diploma (honours) by the National Conservatory of Greece.
