The combination of History and Archaeology with the Cultural Resources Management offers the opportunity for the graduates of the Department to broaden their knowledge and the possibilities of finding employment in more professional sectors (e.g. Archaeological Service, Museums, local cultural and spiritual centres, tourist services, etc.). Also, graduates of the Department have the opportunity to participate in the AΣEP competitions for the recruitment of teachers in secondary education.
Recognised professional rights (if any), professional careers in public and private sector organisations and opportunities for admission to MSc courses The combination of History on the one hand and Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management on the other offers the opportunity for graduates of the Department to broaden their knowledge, but also the possibilities of finding employment in more professional fields. Graduates of the Department have recognised professional rights in secondary education (philologists), in the Archaeological Service (archaeologists) and in other services of the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Tourism. They may also be employed in private and state museums, cultural and tourist institutions, municipal and regional services, publishing organisations, the press, etc.
DHACRM offers three MSc courses, the English-language Cultural Heritage Materials and Technologies in cooperation with the National Research Centre for Historical Research and Technology (NARC), the MSc in Modern and Contemporary History: new considerations and perspectives and the MSc in Management and Technologies in Cultural Heritage (ManTech) which is a partnership of the Departments of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management, Information Technology and Telecommunications, Management Science Technology and Digital Systems of the University of Peloponnese. A sufficient number of our graduates have participated in the above postgraduate courses, while at the same time for years more and more of our graduates have been admitted to postgraduate courses in other universities in the country and abroad, often after demanding entrance examinations.
