The School of Humanities and Cultural Studies is housed in the buildings of the former 9th Infantry Regiment in the old Army Camp of Kalamata, which have been granted by the Municipal Authority for this purpose. The two traditional buildings, built at the end of the 19th century, have been converted into teaching and administration facilities equipped with the necessary logistical infrastructure for their proper and safe operation.
The former "Command Post" of the Kalamata Camp, a neoclassical building of particular aesthetic value, was completely renovated under the care of the Municipality of Kalamata and with the sponsorship of the A.G. Leventis Foundation. The renovation of part of the building of the old "Companies" of the Camp was carried out with the kind donation of Vasileios Konstantinos Konstantakopoulos (+2011) and Mr. Konstantinos Arnokouros. The renovation of the remaining buildings of the old "Logos" was completed with funding from the Peloponnese 2000-2006 3rd CIP, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in July 2008.
The two two-storey stone buildings show great architectural and architectural interest, with absolute symmetry in the facades and simplicity in their individual architectural elements.
Characteristic is the great height and size of the openings, which are framed in full rhythm. The roughly carved cornerstones that surround the exterior walls of the two buildings break up the simplicity of the exterior facades, giving them a rustic tone, an element that appears in other buildings of Kalamata at the same time, under French influence.
